We believe the Holy Spirit is still present, still speaking, and still leading us into what God is doing now.
When the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you to all truth.
JOHN 16:13
WE EXPECT GOD TO BE PRESENT
The Holy Spirit isn't simply something we read about in the past. We gather believing God is present with us now—in worship, prayer, Scripture, conversation, and everyday life.WE LISTEN FOR THE SPIRIT
Prayer isn't only about speaking to God. We make room to listen—paying attention to the ways the Spirit may be prompting, challenging, comforting, or leading us.WE EXPECT TO BE LED
We don't assume that where we've been is necessarily where God wants us to stay. Being Spirit Alive means remaining willing to follow when God leads us somewhere new.WE MAKE ROOM FOR EXPERIENCE
Faith engages more than our minds. There is room for wonder, emotion, silence, joy, conviction, prayer, and genuine encounters with God's presence.WE PRACTICE DISCERNMENT
Not every feeling, idea, or impulse comes from God. We discern together—testing what we sense through Scripture, the character of Jesus, prayer, wisdom, and the community of faith.WE BELIEVE GOD STILL TRANSFORMS LIVES
The Spirit meets us as we are, but doesn't leave us there. We believe God still heals, restores, convicts, empowers, and forms people into greater wholeness and Christlikeness.WE BELIEVE EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING TO OFFER
The Spirit isn't reserved for pastors or religious experts. God gives gifts throughout the community, and everyone can have a meaningful part in the life and ministry of the church.WE FOLLOW THE SPIRIT BEYOND OUR WALLS
The Spirit is already at work in our neighborhoods, relationships, workplaces, and world. Our calling isn't to keep God inside the church—it is to notice where God is moving and join in.
HOW THIS CONNECTS TO OUR BELIEFS
Spirit Alive grows from our belief that God is present and active among us today.
We believe the Holy Spirit continues to guide, comfort, challenge, empower, and transform us. The Spirit gives gifts throughout the church and leads us into deeper faithfulness as we learn to recognize and respond to God’s presence.
HOW THIS CONNECTS TO OUR OTHER VALUES
Being Spirit Alive shapes how we live all our other values.
The Holy Spirit continually points us toward Jesus, brings Scripture to life, leads us beyond old boundaries toward radical inclusion, and gives each of us gifts to share in authentic community.
Our values work together: we listen for the Spirit and follow where God leads.
